Loud noises

The title of the blog tonight is my favorite scene from Anchorman- Jimi and I watched it for the first time together and rewound this particular part a million times, laughing our butts off.

It's very noisy in my pod tonight at work. Alarms are just going nuts! I have three babies on oxygen and probes so they're in the midst of all the alarming.
The night was going at a pretty fast clip and has since slowed down, as it usually does, between the hours of 4-6am. I get my sleepiest and grumpiest during these hours. I can't wait to get home and crawl into my nice cozy bed and sleep the day away! I did get a chance to catch up on some reading, and I'm about to start a new book that I've heard good reviews about.

Day 7- God's Word.
As one of my new years resolutions from this past January, I wanted to finish the bible in a year. I started a little late but caught up quickly the first month and I've stayed on track throughout the year. I've had plenty of times that I've skipped days and had to catch up, but I've tried to stay diligent with reading. I've learned a TON, and next year(s) my goal will be to re-read it, take notes, and study His word more in depth.

Back to work

Back to work tonight! I've had 11 full days off so I'm pretty ok with heading back to work tonight. I only have to do two nights, then three more starting Saturday night. I'm not sure if the peds office needs me Thursday afternoon, but I'll be there Friday.

Macie tried to start my day off at 6:45 this morning, but I put an end to it by putting her in her kennel until 7:45. Otherwise she just paces the room and gets in my face until I get out of bed. I had a good 5 mile run this morning followed by a 25 minute walk with Macie. The back of my knee felt better today, thankfully! I've been kind of tired today, so I haven't done much else besides wrap all the Christmas presents. I only have a few more to buy!

Day 6- thankful for a healthy body. While I'd loveeee to lose a few pounds, I am very thankful for the body I have. It allows me to work long shifts and exercise every day. I ran a marathon and two days later I was running 3-5 miles again; I love running! It's my outlet, stress-reliever, reflecting time, and time for me. I prefer to run alone, but I don't mind having running buddies either. Macie will debut her running abilities very soon! Next event is the Jingle Jam 10k in Augusta December 1st with my sister.

Pictures

It's weird not having to be anywhere today. I mean, I still have errands to run but it's not vital that I get them done at a certain time. I got up this morning to sun(ish)! It's weird that its light outside at 6:30 instead of 7:30. I cleaned up a touch around here while stalling to go on a run. Then I ran 4 miles; I have a weird nagging pain behind my left knee that started towards the end of the marathon last Sunday. It didn't really bother me too much when I was running at home, but I definitely felt it today, so hoping that goes away quickly! Next race is December 1st with my sister; we're doing a 10k Jingle Jam in Augusta. Macie and I went on a little mile walk and I'm really about to run those errands; even though I'm decorating for Thanksgiving today I'm still going to wrap all the Christmas presents I've already purchased.

Day 5- thankful for pictures. I take a ton of them (usually with my phone since its readily available) and I love looking back at all the memories that have been captured. One of my goals for 2013 is to reorganize and print out pictures from the past few years and get them back in albums. And I can't wait to see wedding pictures! I'm already stalking the website multiple times a day. Here are a few of my favorites that are already uploaded. I have a bazillion I want to add ;)

Post wedding relaxation

Well, we made it back to Bluffton! It's going to be a nice few weeks without any travel. We go in spurts where we just go, go, go so it'll be nice having zero plans for a bit before the holidays hit.

Mom, dad, Matt, McKenzie and I got up this morning and met for yummy brunch with the Allison's...my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins from my moms side. Then we packed up all the leftover food from the wedding and headed over to Jimi and Christopher's for a "food party." Matt and I left with 3 bags of chicken, some pulled pork, mac & cheese, green beans, corn, and wedding cake. We shredded the chicken right when we got back and put it in the freezer; it's going to come in handy for last minute dinners!

I made the infamous cheese stick pepperoni rolls for dinner tonight per Matt's request. We were planning on going for ice cream, but I'm doubting that's going to happen since it closes in 20 minutes and Matt is passed out sitting up.

Tomorrow I'm planning on decorating for Thanksgiving and cleaning the entire apartment. I don't work until Tuesday night, so I should have time to clean out closets too!

Day 4- thankful for Macie. She may be a huge pain in the rear some days, but she's a really sweet, loving dog...who is also scared of her own shadow ;)

Her ornament came in and is so cute!!

Marriage

Day 3- thankful for marriage. Mom and dad have been married 32 years and both sets of grandparents have been married 50+ years. Today, Meg and Adam embarked on their journey together. The wedding was beautiful and everyone had great fun!

Bedtime.

Day 2

Day 2- Thankful for Matt. He's quite amazing; he's quirky, and he loves God. We teach each other on a daily basis how to relax and not take life too seriously.
I can't wait to see him today!!

Off to the races! Mom, Caylee, McKenzie, Meg and I are headed to get our nails done! And then run a whole lotta errands before the rehearsal dinner tonight.

November

November is one of my favorite months, mainly because Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays...and not because of all the yummy foods! I think people are a little more grateful during this month and I love the daily "I am thankful for..." status updates on Facebook. So, I'm doing a daily post (hopefully) of what I'm thankful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving!

Day 1-Family

Even in the midst of all the wedding drama and craziness I am still so thankful for my family. We have our differences and may disagree a lot, but we all still love each other dearly. Today as Meg and I ran around Augusta, my parents were running to every Walmart in Georgia looking for the candles we need for the wedding; Adam drove all the way up to Atlanta to pick up his folks; Jimi was making signs for the wedding at home; Steven read McKenzie her goodnight story.

And I'm not just thankful for my family, but Matt's as well. They've welcomed me with open arms the past two years and I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each of them.

Cheers to family!

Wedding is in t-minus two days! We finished putting together 26 favors tonight (100 still left to do- eeks!), almost finished painting the s'mores sticks, printed out programs, painted the "Mr and Mrs" letters for the table and the ring bearers box for Cal. There's still a lot to do, but I feel like we ave a decent head start. Tomorrow will start nice and early again so I can squeeze in a run before our pedicures and manicures at 10. It promises to be another busy day around here for sure! Yay for getting to see Matt at some point tomorrow! I miss the boy and I'm sure Macie is having major withdrawals; she hasn't had quality time with him since last Thursday!! I'm sure she is quite thankful for sisters dog, Max. They've quickly become best buds over the week :)
