From start to finish!

We've had a wonderful weekend over here!

It all started Friday when I was home by 6...home at 6 on a Friday is pretty much a miracle and never happens! We made dinner and enjoyed hanging out at the dock for a bit.

Too bad all my pictures start out right side up and always end up sideways. Ugh.

Saturday morning started nice and early at 5:45. I got up to drive into Bluffton and attempt my long run of the week. I simply cannot get motivated to run more than 6 miles (though I've done a 7 and 8) here around the house; it's way too boring. I finished and ended up hitting my goal of 10 miles, even though I was only supposed to do 9! I'll be doing this for all my long runs...it helps so stinking much to change up the scenery!

Since I was already in Bluffton, I went ahead and did our weekly grocery shopping too, after getting some warm coffee! It was quite chilly, rainy, and windy out there! I came home, unpacked the groceries, started the dishwasher and a load of clothes, then went to "help" Matt paint the bonus room. I say help because I barely did anything; he apparently didn't like the way I was painting and took over. I just worked at getting him lunch, cleaning up his spills, and talking his ears off.

Scott, Chance, and Matt's parents came over a little later on to shrimp off the dock, but apparently there were no shrimp to be caught! They gave up and watched some of the football games for a bit. They left, I finished cleaning, then cooked dinner before watching the SC game. I was passed out by 9:15 on a Saturday! Real party animal right here.

This morning we slept in then Matt made some pancakes that we ate on the porch.

Matt then insisted on opening his birthday presents a day early since Mondays are typically crazy for 

us. He got a SC grill set and some UGG slippers (that are on my Christmas list too!). He then posed for this picture with his gifts like a goob.

Then it was off to church for nursery duty! We only had two babies, one of them Gracie Bea, so it was nice. Gracie took 3 steps alone too! And we got to love on baby Taylor!

We grabbed some Zaxbys on the way home then sat on the couch for a bit before I decided to get some sun on the dock. Matt followed shortly to shrimp, then he and Craig took off on the boat. I sat down there until 5:15ish then headed up for a short run...ended up doing 3 miles in 26:40 which is surprising the day after a long run, but I'll take it! The boys came back and when we took Craig back to their parents to pick up his truck, Molly and I went for a nice walk with Emily; perfect ending to a great weekend!

We headed to Augusta about 7:40 Friday evening and made it there close to 10...only a 2:15 drive! Much improved from the almost 3 hours it used to take us. We stayed up and talked with Meg for a bit before turning in.

Saturday morning McKenzie woke us up at 6:50am, oy. We got up and I took off for an easy run...we had a killer leg day at bootcamp Thursday and my quads were still burning Saturday! I ended up doing 3 slow, but hilly miles. Matt mowed the grass for Meagan and I went to get my hair cut. I was back by 10ish, Matt left to play golf, and I sat on the couch for a few hours with sis before mom picked me up for my eye appointment. I finally got new glasses for the first time in like 10 years. My old ones somehow got lost when we moved, which wasn't a terrible thing since they were being held together with scotch tape. Don't worry, I didn't buy these Harry Potter ones...

We all met back at Meagan's house for the UGA vs SC game later on. Bummer of a freaking game and now I have to fly a SC flag at my house for the remainder of the season. I'm not too happy about it. We also had cake for Matt...somehow every year he gets like 3-4 birthday celebrations! 

We also had a halftime race. McKenzie on her four wheeler, me on the tricycle, and Steven on the scooter. Pretty sure McKenzie won.

This morning we got up and took it easy. Meg left for AL on a business trip, Matt went to shop at Cabelas, and I took Macie and McKenzie on the slowest walk in the world. We met up with mom and dad for lunch before heading back. Fast, fast weekend like always!

A morning off

I had this morning off from work and had big plans- a long (9 miles) run, washing our sheets/towels, washing a regular load of clothes, and a trip to the DMV to update my drivers license since we moved.

Here's what I actually accomplished- a 5 mile run...and a mile long walk with Macie because I needed to cool down after my terrible run. I have the sheets and towels in the dryer and the other load in the washer...neither of which will be done by the time I need to leave for work! The DMV place is 20 minutes away, so I definitely didn't have time for that battle. 

From now on I'll take afternoons off when given the option...

Especially when we're leaving for Augusta this afternoon and we could have left early!

Life lately...

...has been a little crazy, but wonderful nonetheless.

T-minus 4 days

...until move-in day!! 

I'm getting super excited.

Friday evening my mom and sister made it to Bluffton and we chatted for a bit before turning in early; we had a busy weekend ahead!

Saturday morning Matt and I were up nice and early thanks to Cooper's heavy breathing (we were dog sitting for Megan and Scott) so I went for a run while Matt got ready to drive to N Augusta (his grandparents had a lawn mower for him to check out).

Mom and Meg headed to the pool for a bit while I got ready for baby Taylor's baby shower! We met over at The Cottage for brunch, which was as delicious as usual, then watched Brandi and Miley open all kinds of sweet baby girl things. 

Afterwards, we drove up to the house for a whole lot of cleaning. Matt's mom came and helped, as well as my friend Jen from work. We tackled a LOT and I'm quite thankful for all their help. We wrapped up about 5:30 and headed home for dinner since we were all starving! Bed was nice and early again from sheer exhaustion. 

Yesterday morning I had nursery at church, so mom and Meagan hit up the pool again for a few hours (jealous) and Matt went to run a billion errands and take Cooper home. We went back up to the house with a few carloads and more cleaning stuff. We finished up what little was left to clean then mom and sister headed back to Augusta while Matt and I went to the storage unit to clean it out. We ended up staying at the house until 7 unloading, unpacking, and mowing the yard. Matt somehow got the lawn mower working and ended up doing the whole yard! He was quite proud :)
