Two weekends..

Soo, two weekends have come and gone. Again.
At least this week is a short week at work!! Wahoo!

Last weekend we didn't do much...nothing that I remember anyway. Saturday we watched a lot of football, I did my grocery shopping and some cleaning. Boring, but relaxing!

Sunday we had Taylor and Gracie Bea in nursery, which is always a treat! We grabbed lunch on the way home, Matt did more yard work, I did more cleaning, then we headed over to Craig and Molly's to celebrate Emily's first birthday!

Monday through Friday are always a blur, especially with it being flu season. Yuck. I left early Friday afternoon so I could be home and could get ready for Music to Your Mouth out at Palmetto Bluff. Always a good time! Really good wine, good food, and great company makes for a fun time.

Saturday morning we slept in until 8, which felt wonderful! Matt went to help with duck hunting stuff while I went for a run then headed into town for grocery shopping. Megan, Molly and I met up for the 3rd hunger games movie- so intense! I picked up dinner for Matt and I, he fell asleep on the couch by 7, and I attempted a few loads of laundry before I succumbed to my sleepiness. Matt was back up at 4 something this morning to duck hunt with Macie while I took advantage of a quiet house and slept in! We made a trip into Savannah so he could Christmas shop (at bass pro!) and visit with Bobby, Sara, and their sweet new daughter. Oh and I had a sweet for the first time in 22 1/2 days- worth every bite.

Back home and attempting to make Thanksgiving treats; failing at it too!!

Hello, goodbye

G'bye weekend! You went by entirely too fast.

Yesterday morning I was up by 4:45am and heading into Savannah for the rock n roll half marathon, and to tell you the truth I was totally dreading it. I've had some bad runs, my feet have been hurting, and I've had a nasty cold since Halloween. I was in no mood to run a half! Steph and I decided to run it together since her knees had been bothering her, so it was comforting knowing I wouldn't be alone. We ran at a decent pace the first 7 miles, though I needed almost every walk break when my watch beeped (Steph does interval running- 4 mins of running, 1 min of walking) because my chest and breathing were so off. Then right after mile 7 Stephanie's knees and hips really started bothering her so we slowed down significantly, and I wasn't upset at all! We finished in 2:13:?? and I'm okay with that. I left, grocery shopped (no more walmart trips on Saturday mornings!!), then was a bum for the rest of the day. Serious lazy mode- I watched football, napped on and off, and stayed off my feet as much as possible.

Thankfully all that lying around paid off! I felt so much better this morning. Matt made breakfast then headed out to do some yard work while I started cleaning. We went to church then busted butt to
make it to Savannah for the final running event of the weekend- the 5k. I felt pretty good and was proud of my time- 26:52! Got my 5k and remix medals (I'm a medal junkie FYI) and we drove on back home!

We've been piddling around for most of the afternoon and now Matt is cooking up a delicious dinner while I sit here and drink wine! Nice trade-off ;)

PS- loving the time change, but only in the mornings when my view is this!

Much better than running in the dark with lights. Love it...except for the whole getting dark at 6 thing.
Happy Sunday!

November, PA (last little bit), and playing catch up

Okay, last bit of the PA trip went like this-
We got up Sunday, ate breakfast, got to the start line in time to potty, then ran (and walked) for 13.1 super hilly miles. It was quite chilly but the views were beautiful, and we snagged a free running skirt around mile 7ish. Fun for sure. We finished in 2:24:xx which is definitely a worst for me, but glad Steph and I stuck together for all 3 races. We also got to chat with the editor-in-chief of RW magazine after a beast of a hill at mile 6; he was super nice and chatted with as many runners as he could. I've never run with anyone during any race so it was a totally different run experience for me. We got back to the hotel, showered, Matt and I left for lunch, returned the rental car, then flew home.

The following weekend we didn't do much of anything- I did a 5 mile morning run while Matt hunted, I cleaned a lot, then drove to Bluffton for the Zombie 5k and grocery shopping. On Sunday I sat outside and read an entire book (seriously) while Matt did some serious yard work.

Friday was Halloween so we all dressed up at the office, which makes for a much more fun day. Who can be angry and frustrated when surrounded by zebras and lady bugs?! I came home and made hotdog mummies- pretty lame but dinner is still dinner!

Yesterday I was feeling quite under the weather with a nasty head cold so I opted to stay inside and do next to nothing all day. I did get some cleaning done, but once Matt lit a fire I was pretty much toast.

With the time change this morning I was hoping for some sold sleeping in, but we were up by 6:40 thanks to my annoying runny/stuffy nose and since we lack curtains in the bedroom and the sun was shining abundantly. Won't complain about the sunshine after yesterday's dreary day though. We went
to church, ate lunch with Megan and Scott's gang, chatted for a bit at their house, visited the new tractor supply store, then finally made it home. As soon as we walked in the door Matt changed into his hunting clothes and left. I waited an hour or so then had a fantastic 5 mile run. I'm assuming I was so pumped up after watching the NYC marathon on TV this morning; hey, whatever works. I also already signed up to try and get a spot in next years marathon. Psycho. We have another fire going and I imagine it'll be an early night for us.

Got a bit of a hectic schedule this week- bootcamp, vaccine inventory, work, grocery shopping all tomorrow, bootcamp Tuesday, run Wednesday; bootcamp, dermatology appointment, and a trip into Savannah for my race packet Thursday, then a hopefully quiet Friday. Saturday is the Savannah half and then a 5k Sunday. The icing on the cake is that my coworker will be leaving Thursday for a 10 day trip to Colombia so I'm on my own! I'm sure a lot of wine will be consumed :)
