Recaps

This blog will be a big recap since I never updated last week...I totally forgot.

Last Friday night Matt and I had dinner with our pastor, who officially will be doing our wedding. Matt had me sweating bullets when I realized he had never told Pastor Hubbard our date, who thought we were getting married sometime in 2014, and who had 4 weddings already lined up for this summer...thankfully our weekend falls between two others. Phew.

Saturday morning mom, dad, Meg, and McKenzie came into town. Matt and dad went and played golf while my sister went with me to my eye appointment (afterwards I literally couldn't see anything up close for 2 hours). I had lunch with mom, Meg, and Mckenzie and then we hit up the outlets for awhile since it was so cold and windy outside. Saturday evening Matt and I had dinner (at Truffles) with Craig, Molly, Scott, Megan, and a client and his wife....the dinner lasted almost 4 hours and I was more than ready to get back home. Meg ended up waking up when I got home so we stayed up and chatted for awhile before crashing.

Sunday morning we all got up and took our time getting ready before meeting up with Matt and heading over to Honey Horn to show them the wedding site. It was nice to get their opinions on where stuff should be set up. We had lunch at Guiseppi's then headed back out to the outlets so my dad could look around. They headed back to Augusta shortly after.

This work week went by rather quickly since it was only a 4-day week and before I knew it, it was Friday! Matt and I took off for Nashville around 8:30 Friday morning for my birthday weekend, and our last chance for some quality time before May hits- and our calendars are busyyyyy. It took us 8 hours to get there, and during that car ride we decided we wouldn't be going back...as long as I ran a sub-2 hour half, which I had yet to do in Nashville. We got there around 5ish, checked into the hotel, and walked over to the expo. I love walking cities, by the way. It's so fun to be able to leave the hotel on foot and explore without worrying about traffic and parking! Plus walking makes me happy :) After we finished up at the expo we walked up and down Broadway in search of dinner, which ended up being BBQ nachos at a very loud bar...but the music was really good, and the food wasn't bad. We had dessert at Savannah Sweets; Matt got ice cream and I got caramel popcorn (weird I didn't get ice cream, but this popcorn was legit), then we hiked it back up to the hotel and crashed relatively early. Saturday morning it was rainy, windy, and colddddd. We walked the 1.5 miles to the start line and started right around 7:15...the rain never ever let up!! I forget every year how incredibly hilly Nashville is, but I won't forget again!! My ankle/foot held up and I finished 13.49 miles (a half is only supposed to be 13.1) in 1:59:22...so I met my goal and we won't be going back...wahoo! We drove back the same day so we could go to church this morning and have some quality time with Macie too.

Church this morning was great and I'm really, really loving the pastor there. I feel like this will become our church home once we're married and get settled. Lunch at Giuseppi's (yes we love this place too), then a 3.27 mile walk with Macie, who is still exhausted. My grocery shopping and laundry is done- now time to tackle cleaning the bathroom...my least favorite place to clean!

Next weekend the boys will be on their camping trip, so mom, Meg, and McKenzie are coming to stay with me- YAY!!

Twenty-eight

Happy almost weekend! I probably look forward to the weekends too much.

I was called off from work Monday and declared it shopping day. I found dresses for the couples shower in May and for the bridal luncheon...I think. I have a Savannah shopping day set for a coming up Monday so maybe I'll find something better then...unless its a sunny day, then I'll be found by the pool ;)

This morning started out great with a nice, pain-free 5 mile run. Then work happened...today was highly frustrating, but I've already vented enough for the day so I'll spare you. I dipped out around 3:45 and came home for a little peace and quiet. Matt got here around 5ish and we hung out for a bit before heading to dinner at Kobe- our go-to place for special occasions. It was delicioussss, and I'm so glad we only eat there 3-4x a year because otherwise we'd be quite large!! We came home and rolled around on the floor with Macie for a little while before Matt had to head home. A walk with Macie made me feel much better and a quick circuit workout rounded out my evening.
(PS- not wanting to jinx myself or anything but I've done a run or tae bo session every morning anddddd one of those circuit workouts every day in April...so far...usually I end up skipping a day before the month is over and ruining my streak). I've been planted on the couch for the past few hours and desperately need to shower and get my rear in bed.

Tomorrow kicks off a busy and food-filled few days. Dinner with Pastor Hubbard tomorrow evening in Pooler to seal him in as our wedding pastor, long run Saturday morning and an overdue eye appointment, my parents/sister/neice are coming up for the evening, dinner with one of the boys' clients, and then a late birthday dinner with the fam Sunday after church. I'm excited for the last minute decision my parents, Meg, and McKenzie to come up for the weekend, even though we have all these darn dinner plans.

Looking forward to what 28 brings me and blessed for these years.
And thankful for the texts and gifts throughout the day...I'm a lucky gal ;)

Weekend adventures

Ah, the weekend is almost over...again.

Saturday morning started off with a 12-mile, easy run. Matt got here around 11 and we walked over (Matt was reluctant about the whole walking thing) to the taste of Bluffton event. It was delicious! We walked through once to see what stuck out to us and then went back through to sample our favorites. We had bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp, 2 shrimp tacos (our favorite by far), and a cup of fried shrimp. I tried some of Matt's fried oysters and was not a fan. On the way out we got a cookie and cinnamon roll from The Cottage's booth for dessert...which is where the bridal luncheon is going to be...very yum! We walked the .8 mile back home and it felt so good to walk off some of the food in our bellies...Matt was grateful I made him walk ;)

I packed a little bag then we headed up to Matt's parents house to do some kayaking. It was a beautiful day and we had our best kayaking trip yet! (though this was only our 3rd trip together). We paddled up-river about 45 minutes and then slowly floated/half heartedly paddled back. Matt's mom had a delicious dinner waiting on us when we got back and apple pie and ice cream for dessert. I fell asleep on the couch at 8:45ish and hit the bed soon thereafter.

We went to church in Bluffton this morning, had lunch with Scott, Megan, and Chance, then came home to watch some Masters coverage and follow the Braves score on our phones. Note to South Carolina- please air more games...I miss watching my favorite sport!!! Matt left around 4, so Macie and I ran a few errands, I did a quick 4 mile run, followed by a super short and rainy walk with Pete. Ending the evening with laundry, vacuuming, and watching the exciting end to the tournament.

I leave you with pictures of my nieces and nephews, because they're adorable. Very thankful I will be gaining 3 nephews, 2 nieces, and 3 surprises in October/November! I love, love being an aunt.

Tomorrow is Friiiiiddddaaaayyyyy! Which means Saturday and Sunday are right around the corner! Matt and I have big plans for this weekend, including hitting up a Taste of Bluffton, kayaking, dinner with his folks, church, a long run, and I'm sure we'll have many walks with Pete to do.

Here are my favorites from our engagement session- I love so many!

I love weekends

Happy Sunday :)
This weekend flew by, as usual. I'm gearing up for the week and am already excited about next weekend!

This past week I got up every morning and did a workout before work...which means I was up at 4am Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday...and I loved it!! I like being able to come home after work and not worry about having to do 35+ minutes of tae bo and rush around to get into bed on time. I have gotten hooked on some mini circuits I found on pinterest, but they usually only take 10 minutes or so.

Work was interesting this week...by the time my 3 days were up, I had fed 48 bottles, changed around 50 diapers, did 2 eye exams, 2 carseat challenges, and sent one of my moms down to the ER when she passed out in her chair from low blood sugar. Hopefully this week is a little more chill ;)

Friday morning I got up, ran, met up with Molly, and headed for Savannah to address wedding invitations with Margaret. Big check on the to-do list is done! I am very, very grateful for their help and really enjoyed hanging out and chatting it up. Matt was at the hunting club with Macie Friday night so I bought a chick flick from the $5 bin at Walmart and sat my happy rear on the couch for the night with some leftovers.

I did a 10-mile run Saturday morning in my new shoes....I forget how good new shoes feel!

Matt came over shortly after 1 and I made us a pretty good pizza bake for lunch. He and Macie were zonked from their whirlwind night so they were bums and wanted to nap all afternoon. I got Matt out of the apartment for a bit to check his storage unit for camping supplies, then we explored a little of downtown Bluffton before grabbing some ice cream and heading back. I caved and let them sleep before our dinner date at Truffles (again).

This morning was church (I'm liking this new church more and more each Sunday), lunch with Scott, Megan, and Chance, then some driving around Palmetto Bluff to show some potential buyers around. The weather was gorgeous, so we took Macie on a little walk before deciding to drive over to Honey Horn and explore the area for picture ideas. Matt left for home around 4, so I hit up the grocery store, went for a run, one final walk with Macie, then a quick clean up of the apartment. Pretty quick weekend! Heading to bed now in hopes I'll get up with my alarm when it goes off at 4 :)

Have a fantastic week!
