Girls weekend fun

Another fun weekend is wrapping up! Well, kinda...it shall continue on through tomorrow since its Memorial Day and Matt and I are both off! We have tentative plans for a few hours on the beach.

Friday morning I got up, ran, then packed up for our girls weekend. Meg and I got to Margaret's around 1, hung out and chatted with the kids a bit, then hit up the beach for awhile before the other girls arrived. They got there about 7:30ish, so we dug into some yummy appetizers and then had a surprise lingerie party! Lots of fun and a little blushing ;)

Saturday morning we had some breakfast, Molly played around with my makeup, then we headed out to the beach. It was kinda windy throughout the day, but we got more sun than expected! A few of us definitely got a little burned. We headed back around 4 so we could all shower before dinner. Since it was memorial weekend, lots of places were crowded and the waits were long, but we found a place on St Simons with a shorter wait. We walked down to a little bar and ordered appetizers and drinks while we waited. Food was yummy! We headed back and pretty much crashed since the sun sucked our energy!

This morning sister, Margaret, and I hit up the beach for a litte bit before calling it a day. We left around 3:30 to meet the parents in Statesboro. I got home around 7:30 and have very sluggishly trying to unpack and settle down. Can't wait to crawl into bed :)

Such a fun weekend at the beach with my future sisters!
So grateful for everything this weekend :)

I work at the office Tuesday, then the hospital Wednesday-Friday before heading home to get my hair cut/highlighted, pick up my dress in Atlanta, and to catch a Braves game! Also keeping my fingers crossed that my dress won't need major alterations since there isn't much time!
 34 days to go!!

Random musings

Just a touch of randomness for today. It's a super slow day at the office and I've been quite bored!
It's a nice change of pace :)

1. Monday a friend at work told me about powdered peanut butter. It is legit. It only has 45 calories in 2 tablespoons mixed with water. I thought it was going to be nasty and that I wouldn't like the texture, but I was wayyyy wrong. I bought the chocolate kind because Kroger was already sold out of the normal stuff, but I am on the hunt!

2. The weather forecast for this upcoming weekend looks freaking fantastic. I canNOT wait to sit on the beach for those 3 days and bake myself with all my sisters.

3. This picture from my sister is hilarious...she is a funny little girl. And I love her.

4. I had a 90% pain-free run this morning. I've had a weird foot pain (only hurts when I run) since mid-April and haven't been able to run more than 3-4 miles without excrutiating pain. Thankfully, I had already decided to make the month of May a really chill running month since I think I overdid it the beginning of the year with 4 half marathons and all the long runs in between. Marathon training starts the 2nd week in June and I want to be 100% by then!

Dinner with Matt tonight! And hopefully a long walk with Macie if the rain hold off for us :)

Jam packed weekend

Per usual, another weekend has flown by!

Thursday was a full day at the doctors office and dinner with Matt...I actually cooked us meals both days this week! It's the little things ;) Friday I came pretty close to calling out sick, mainly because I was soooooo sleepy! Glad I chickened out and went because I had some snuggle-rific babies that day.

Macie was pretty sleepy too
Saturday morning my alarm went off at a dreadful 5 am so I could squeeze in a run before back-to-back premarital counseling sessions starting at 8:30. Our sessions went well; we're learning a good bit about each other...lots of lovey feelings going on ;)

After our sessions we hopped over to Atlanta Bread Co for a quick lunch before Matt headed to play in a golf tournament and I headed back to Bluffton. I was going to shop around a bit in Savannah, but it was sun shiny and I wanted some pool time! After the pool it was a hot, lethargic walk for Macie and I before I left to go babysit Chance for the evening. We walked to the neighborhood pool and only made it about 20 minutes before the rain clouds started rolling in, so we strolled around the neighborhood for awhile until I discovered I'd lost his shoes somewhere along the way! Long story short, we walked more than I anticipated, rode around in Scott's truck, and finally found the shoes back at the pool when Matt made it over to drive us around some more. Phew!

Earlyish night last night and sleeping in until 8:30 this morning felt heavenly. Heavenly!
Church was great, leftovers for lunch, then the ride back to Savannah for more counseling. I think we have 2 sessions left. Afterwards, we found ties for all the guys in the wedding party, another check off the list! 41 days until the wedding! I was all about a run this evening, but it's been steadily raining, so I declare today a rest day :)

Next Friday kicks off our girls weekend and I am super pumped!!! Hoping for no rain and tons of sun for the beach! It will be fun no matter what and I can't wait :)

These are hilarious- Meg made pig cupcakes for Stevens bday!

Shower fun and mom day

Our shower Saturday was so fun! Sister did an amazing job with the food, decorations, games, etc.

We got into Augusta around 10:50 Friday night and I was pretty crashed within 30 minutes.
Macie was up bright and early Saturday morning, sadly, so we got an early start to the day. Dad and Matt headed off to play golf and mom, McKenzie, and I had errands to run and a delicious lunch at Takosushi to partake in. My smart self thought it would be a good idea to run from my parents house to Meg and Adams house 45 minutes after sushi. Not the brightest on my part...terrible route through the projects and I'm incredibly thankful my mom drove her car in lots of circles so she could watch out for me throughout my entire run!

The shower started right around 6, and I'm so thankful for all sisters hard work; we had so much fun chatting it up with friends and family who drove quite the distances to be there for us. The kids had fun with bubbles and cornhole, and the adults were mostly mingling and getting to know one another. We got a lot of great gifts and are so grateful!

Happy mom day on Sunday! Macie was up bright and early again, so I drove to the store to pick up muffins and a danish for breakfast (Matt and dad annihilated it within minutes). We went to church, then Matt and I met with our music people/coordinator...she asked me quite a few questions about the ceremony that I hadn't thought of, so I'm back in wedding mode again! Dad picked up lunch from Red Robin (yummmm) and we had a relaxing lunch with Meg and McKenzie, with cupcakes and leftover banana pudding for dessert. My friend Lea and her husband Scott also dropped by so i could meet their son, Jack, for the first time! He's a super happy baby and I'm so glad I finally got to see him!

Matt and dad loaded up the car and we were off. We stopped by maw and pawpaws and had a short visit with them before heading back. I dropped Matt off in Ridgeland and then I stayed up quite late unloading, unpacking, and writing thank you cards. Monday and Tuesday were some sleepy days at the hospital! I slept like a rock last night and only worked a half day today so I could come home and relax by the pool :) Macie also had her annual well checkup/shots today...74 pounds and very healthy! $195 poorer, we came home and had a yummy dinner of baked chicken fajitas. Now Matt is gone and Macie and I are about to wrap our night up with a nice long walk.

Saturday we will be doing two back-to-back premarital counseling sessions starting at 8:30. Matt is playing in a fundraising golf tournament so I plan on some more pool time in the afternoon. I'm/we are babysitting Chance that evening while Megan and Scott are at a wedding, so a fun-filled and packed Saturday is in store for us! Sunday will be church, another counseling session, and hopefully we will be tie shopping for the boys' suits- I really want to get that checked off!

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! It's going to be another whirlwind weekend and I'm pretty pumped!

Macie is excited too, she just doesn't know why
Monday and Tuesday I was at the hospital with some pretty sweet babies...also discharged two for home, and the parents were veryyyy happy. Wednesday was supposed to be a half day at the peds office, but they acted desperate so I told them I'd stay, but only if I could work a half day Thursday.
Thursday was pretty sweet. I had a list a mile long of things I needed to take care of, and I got it ALL done! With the exception of one thing, and it was questionable anyway.

I skipped my run Thursday morning, stupidly, so I could sleep in an extra 1.5 hours...I'd like to say it was worth it, but when I ran in 80 degree, humid weather that afternoon I was not happy. Especially after laying by the pool for 2 hours and sweating out all the water I was pumping in. I canNOT complain since I did have 2 uninterrupted hours by the pool...first time this year! And after only two hours of "real" sun, I have caught back up with Matt, who was actually pretty dark for him. Matt and I finished off the evening with a pretty weak dinner on my part (I have not been in the cooking mood lately) and I took Macie on a pretty nice walk.

Wedding stuff is picking up again...I finished paying for flowers and the majority of the tables and chairs I rented yesterday. Dad is supposed to be talking with the caterer to keep track of him, but I'm not sure if he has or not. RSVP's started rolling in yesterday too and I got so excited! Plus our shower is tomorrow which excites me even more! Sister is freaking out because it's supposed to rain, but it'll be great rain or shine :)

Matt and I are heading home to Augusta pretty late this evening since my dad made an 8:50am tee time for tomorrow morning. I think he forgot we weren't planning on driving home until the morning. I won't lie, I'm kinda happy we're heading back tonight, even though my 3:50am wake up call this morning will be making me grumpy by 10 tonight, cause then the weekend won't feel so rushed!

7 Sunday's....

It's official- I may or may not be freaking out a little about the wedding. For whatever reason, the past few days have made me realize that it's so.close. Eeks.

Moving on....

Mom, Meg, and McKenzie finally got here around 8:15ish Friday evening. We got everything up into the apartment and snuggled with McKenzie for a few minutes before Meg put her to bed. The rest of us stayed up until around 10 chatting until crashing. McKenzie kicked me and took over the bed alllllll night long...it was rough! Rain greeted us Saturday morning so we took our sweet time eating breakfast and getting ready before heading out in the dreary weather.

First stop was the post office and we put all the invites in the mail!! Maybe this was when I started my little freak out, I'm not sure (eeeks). We then went on to our lunch date at Truffles with Matt's mom and Molly and had a great time chatting and getting to know one another (the moms). Afterwards we went to target for girly movies and milkshake fixings...which never happened, we just ate the ingredients separately, oops.

I attempted a short walk with Macie and McKenzie, but gave up when McKenzie started chattering her lips due to the chill and rain.

This morning we were greeted with even more rain and had good intentions of going to church until it just continued pouring...then we opted to sit on the couch, look up more wedding stuff, and watch episodes of Friends. Matt came over (their camping weekend was cut short due to the rain) and we all had a farewell lunch at Guiseppi's. Matt and I came home and he tuned in to a basketball game, so I ended up snoozing for a good 30 minutes. We took Macie on a pretty long walk up to Starbucks so Matt could pick up some coffee for his dad. He left shortly after, I ran errands, made it through a painful 3 mile run (foot/ankle is still messed up, 2 weeks later), took Macie on another walk, emptied the dishwasher, washed 3 loads of clothes, and made mac and cheese for work tomorrow.
Whew. Ready for the week!!

7 Sunday's left until the wedding- EEEKS!

Waiting...

I'm waiting on mom, sister, and Mckenzie to get here so I thought I'd type a little something while I'm putting off washing clothes and vacuuming.

Monday- crazy busy.
Woke up at 5:30 am for a 7:30 CPR class in Savannah since mine was expiring soon. The class was totally finished at 8:40, so I called my doctor in hopes that they'd move my appointment up and I wouldn't be wandering around Savannah for two hours. They did! I was back in my car and headed back to Bluffton by 10, which ended up being good since our premarital counseling session was moved up to 1:15 instead of 6:30. I hightailed it home in order to shower and take Macie on a quick walk.

Back to Savannah we went! Our first session went great and I'm excited about the rest of them. Afterwards we headed to Jane's to pick out Matt's wedding band...which took all of about 10 minutes. He's so easy! And wears a size 12 ring, which seems enormous! We'll be taking this picture so soon ;)

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I was at the hospital and had great days. I really do love snuggling with those sweet babies and I wish every week was like this one.

Today I was in no mood to have a crazy day at the office, but it went pretty well! We were so, so busy and I didn't get to leave at 4:30 to pick up my contacts like I had planned, but 5:30 wasn't too bad. I ran to the store and grabbed some milk for McKenzie, Macie and I had a cool and windy walk, and now we're hanging out waiting for the girls to get here!

A beach weekend was planned but it's supposed rain, sadly. I'm ok with a stay inside, watch movies all day in our pajamas kind of weekend though. Lunch tomorrow at Truffles with Matt's mom and Molly are the only plans that are made! And hopefully a sister run in the morning :)
