Calf pain, work, dress shopping

Wedding dress shopping was a huge success today!! No picture posting, but here's what McKenzie chose for her flower girl dress...

We celebrated the big purchase with drinks, lunch, and dessert at Cheesecake Factory...it was delicious and we all consumed way too much food. And I broke down and got cheesecake on day 6 of the no sweets challenge :/ It starts over again tomorrow. Our sweet waitress left a message on my dessert plate-

We drove back to Augusta after lunch to hit up the race expo to pick up our race stuff for tomorrow. Meg will be doing a 10k and I'll be attempting another half. I started having calf pain Monday and I've spent the past few days taking ibuprofen, icing, and using compression socks to get it back to normal. We shall see. We got some nice sunglasses in our swags bag that McKenzie immediately claimed.

The rest of the evening will consist of sitting on the couch and watching movies while McKenzie plays with my hair. Another early morning start tomorrow, then lunch with the family before heading back to Bluffton!

And one more picture, because I love it.
Thank you to my mom for the new attachment!

Oops, two. I signed up for the Chicago marathon Tuesday under my future new name ;)

Sick call

I bragged last weekend to Matt that I hadn't gotten sick in the past two years. I figured my immunity must be through the roof since I'm around sick kids all the time. Thursday at the hospital I started feeling kinda rough, but I really thought it was from all the Valentines treats I consumed and the fact I was exhausted from 3 days at the hospital. Friday morning I opted out of the overtime the hospital offered and worked my 3 hours at the office- best decision ever. I think I would be much worse off if I worked that extra 12 hour shift. I made Matt and I our Valentines dinner and it was delicious!

Saturday morning I did a nice 10 mile run (probably didn't help the sickness) and took Macie on a walk before Matt and I headed into Savannah to find suits for the wedding and to register. First stops were Atlanta Bread Co for lunch and Coldstone for dessert...21 days of no sweets started today (Monday) and I just had to have my ice cream!

We found suits within 5 minutes of being in the store, but we left so we could talk prices and sizes over with our dads. We headed over to Macy's next, but got behind two other couples registering so we left and went to BB&B instead. 3 hours later and we were finally done! Macy's would wait until Sunday. We got home and took Macie for another walk since she was going nuts, rented a movie, and ordered Japanese food for dinner. Quite the food filled Saturday.

Sunday was church, lunch, registering at Macy's, and suit purchasing. I ran a few errands and cleaned up around the house before heading to bed at 9:30. I woke up at midnight and decided it would be best to call out sick from work...no need to expose those babies to my sickness! Today I'll be resting....and trying to squeeze in a run, when and if it finally hits 50 degrees outside ;)

Friday I'm heading home to go dress shopping Saturday with mom, dad, and sister. On Sunday, I'm running in the Augusta half and Meg is doing the 10k. It promises to be another crazy weekend!

February thus far..

It's already the 10th of February and this is my first post of the month...oops.
I don't know how bloggers find time to post multiple times a day..or week! I'll try to get better :)

It's been an eventful month so far. Super Bowl Sunday happened...

...and Macie could've cared less! As long as she's around Matt she's a happy pup. The week was pretty uneventful...lots of work between the hospital and peds office. I did get the great news that I'll have an extra 8 weeks of day shift! This means I won't be back to nights until right before the wedding! I'm very happy I'll be on a "normal" schedule for the majority of the planning.
Oh, something else we did- we set a DATE for our big day! It's going to be June 29th and our venue, photographer, and caterer have been booked. Matt and I are trying to tackle almost everything together and we have weekly goals. This coming weekend we plan on finding the suits he, his dad, and my dad will be wearing. And we will be registering! Fun stuff :)

Yesterday I ran in my 8th half marathon and set a new personal record! My garmin read 1:55:58 when I crossed the finsh line and my "gun time" was 1:56:10...a new PR either way! I wore compression socks around the house last night and to sleep in and my calves aren't sore at all- my
quads are a different story. Macie and I went on a brisk 3.3 mile walk for our exercise today and I'm hoping I can get in a good sore-free run tomorrow.

Hal (Matt's bro) took the below pictures of Macie while we were at the finish line yesterday...she looks so precious and innocent...totally not normal for her.

Have a great Monday tomorrow! Hopefully I'll post again before March rolls around :)

And one more picture...here is where Matt proposed!
