Seriously, Monday again?

This weekend went by with rapid speed. Rapid.

I sat around the house doing odds and ends for the remainder of Friday afternoon, then hit up happy hour with a few coworkers from Seaside- it was delicious.

Afterwards, Matt and I tried out a wine bar in Bluffton that I had never heard of. One of Matt's subcontractors and wife own it and they are awesome at what they do. They had plenty of wines to choose from and the menu was delicious too. Date night was quite fun and we were still home and watching Impractical Jokers on the couch by 9...that's how we roll ;)

Saturday morning started off quite early thanks to Macie wanting to be up at 6:30. Matt needed to drop some supplies off at a jobsite, so we got up and got the day started after a yummy breakfast of waffles. After all our Palmetto Bluff running around we set off a few flea bombs at the apartment and took off for a few hours. Our plan was to drive to Edisto, but since we didn't get out of the house until after noon we wanted to be a bit closer, so we went to Hunting Island instead. We stayed there for about an hour before a beach patrol guy asked us to put her leash on (she wears a shock collar and most places consider that a leash) and so we left since she can't really have fun stuck to us.

We made it back by 3:30ish and went to Old Navy to get Matt some new work pants and shirts, then got some ice cream from Kilwins- our favorite flavor was back in stock, hooray!! I was supposed to cook dinner but was just exhausted from all our running around, so we ordered in and picked up a bottle of wine (which we forgot to open). A nice little Saturday for sure.

Sunday we got up for early service, did all our grocery shopping and errands for the week, and were back at home by 11:30...so nice! I made lunch and we laid around until Matt decided to go play a round of golf. We made it home and had leftovers for dinner before leaving to get gas and for Macie to have a training session. Another nice day outdoors :)

This morning I turned off my alarm to run and slept in until 4:45, so Matt is on duty to make sure I get in a short run when I get home. Good luck to him! I'm orienting a new grad to the special care and intermediate nurseries, so it'll be a boring next few weeks as she takes over my patients and I'm just supervising...hopefully they won't block pinterest on me again! Happy Monday.

Lots of giggles and Friday fun

Here's a quick recap of my week (as if you care!)-

Tuesday- up at 3:40 for some good ole tae bo...which I hadn't done in foreverrrrr then had the sleepiest day at the hospital

Wednesday- up at 3:30 and did SIX miles on the treadmill, I think my furthest treadmill run to date. Got my first coffee on the way in and totally loved it...will be doing that a few times a week! Had dinner with Cassady, Alissa, and Sara after work to talk about birthday surprises for the boys, who are turning 30 this year all within a few months. We're having schedule issues but I'm hoping it works out! The boys would be so surprised and happy.

Thursday- Matt was supposed to be my backup alarm and get me up as he was leaving for work, but he decided to head in 30 minutes later than usual, so I missed my morning run :/ I worked at the office, came home and made dinner, then it started pouring so I never did run, sadly. I spent most of the evening CRACKING myself up on pinterest...I have no idea why. Jimi kept sending me hilarious pins and I was in one giggly mood. Matt and I headed to bed a little later, then ended up watching some practical jokers show and cracked up even more! Today we are not as giggly since we're pooped!!

This morning I got up with Matt and headed out for my long run at 6:45. Made it through 12.01 miles at a fairly decent pace. The humidity sucks my energy, but I felt pretty good for miles 1-8, and 9-12 were sluggish. I'm thankful the tanger outlets open their bathrooms before the stores...and that they still believe in water fountains!! I'm bumming it the rest of the day. A few of the girls I work with at Seaside are doing happy hour at a little vineyard downtown, so I'm going to join them when they're off, then the husband and I have a dinner date!

We might be going to Edisto tomorrow, if we wake up in a day trip kinda mood!
Happy Friday!

Monday musings

The combination of waking up at 3:50am this morning and screaming babies is getting to me.
My brain is mushy.

Musings-

1. Waking up so early in the morning to run makes me the biggest scaredy cat in the entire world- worse than Macie. A deer ran out in front of me and you would've thought it was a man with a knife, chasing me all my measly 3 miles. Tae Bo is tomorrow in my living room, and my 6 miler early Wednesday will be done on the treadmill.

2. We like tervis tumblers in our house. I had to store our "real" glasses elsewhere to make room for Matt's tumblers. We also really like koozies. And baskets (this one is for me, not Matt)

3. Macie never likes to be groomed, which is odd since she loves for us to touch her and talk to her and be with her at all times of the day.

4. Yesterday was National Ice Cream day, and I didn't find out until 5:15 pm. This is probably why all the good ice cream choices were gone by the time we got to Kilwins. McKenzie got Cold Stone Saturday and I was insanely jealous- no joke.

I kicked off our Saturday morning with a little 7 mile run- my last "easy" one on my training plan- and it wasn't easy. I'm fearful for the next 3 months. Matt and I went to the beach for a grand 45 minutes afterwards, but since it was overcast and he wanted to play golf, we left. I piddled around at the house and then ran random errands because I was bored. We rented 42 and I made appetizers for dinner- yum. Sunday morning Matt cleaned guns, I made a grocery list, then we took off for church. We had Mellow Mushroom for lunch afterwards, and I'm thankful I chose Sunday for my cheat day this week, because I most definitely had ice cream later also. I was supposed to run, but all the food got to me and I fell asleep on the couch instead- oops. I am now ready to crawl into bed at the ripe hour of 7pm- I am an old lady.

5- last muse- sister sent me this picture of McKenzie's new  haircut and she now looks like a grown child, not the almost 5-year old that she is. I really am getting old.

Rehearsal and rehearsal dinner

Sorry if anyone is getting annoyed at my play-by-plays of wedding week...but I don't care :)
Matt's working late tonight and I'm exhausted from doing 1 million health checks at the peds office, so I figured I'd relax and write another wedding related post. Had a pretty decent 4 mile run this morning that kept me sane today! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweet mom!

I got a little flustered heading to the rehearsal because we were running a touch late thanks to the boys' long winded golf game, then Matt's super last minute decision that he really needed a new polo for the evening. Turns out we were the first ones there! Apparently no GPS can find the venue, so everyone was lost and therefore we didn't get started until 5:30. Our wedding coordinator and dear friend, Mary, was on top of everything and quickly organized us and got things started so we could be done. Here was another time I'm extremely thankful Matt and I only had one attendant each...so much less stressful!

We finished rehearsing and unloading some stuff around 6 and took off for Truffles. We pretty much arrived at the perfect time because after 10-15 minutes of mingling, food was already being served! Dinner was delicious, per usual, and Matt ordered our dessert special since it wasn't on the menu; he knows how much I LOVE my dessert.

After everyone was finished eating, Mr. Hal asked everyone to stand and introduce themselves and how they knew Matt or myself. My family is super shy, so no one said much, but Craig and Scott gave a few memorable little talks. And Craig presented Matt with a sweet cardboard cutout of himself at a Talladega event years ago- fairly certain this was the highlight of the evening! Good laughs with family :)

A few of us had a couple drinks afterwards at a little bar downtown, but I was still home by 10ish tucked in bed and snuggling with McKenzie. Wedding day post soon :)

Bridal luncheon

The Megster put the pictures from moms camera on shutterfly Friday night, so I can finally write about the bridal luncheon! There weren't as many pictures as I has hoped, but McKenzie took a LOT of interesting shots over the days ;)

I knew that Friday before the wedding was going to be a super busy day, and I loved every minute of it! I got up and did a solo 5 mile run and then picked up sister for another 3- I think I already mentioned this in a different post- but it felt so good to get one last good run in before taking it easy for a week! We finished up and showered...I made sister do my hair and makeup so she had herself, me, and McKenzie to get ready! It was a madhouse at my little apartment for awhile. My dad and Steven and Christopher, Cal, Riley, and Jimi all pulled up around 9:30. Steven and dad came early to play a round of golf at Palmetto Bluff with Coach Perez (who is now apparently my godfather- thanks to a little white lie told by Matt) and Matt. They had a great time and dad and Coach Perez keep asking when they can play again.

We took off around 10:50 and met up with the other ladies at The Cottage, a sweet little restaurant in downtown Bluffton. It was perfect! The food was delicious and came in HUGE portions. It was fun mingling all the girls in both sides of the family- though I wish grandmothers could have made it! I'm thankful for all my sisters.

The Waters/Krebs girls headed over to Target afterwards and I picked out more stuff for Matt's "honeymoon basket"- my little wedding gift to him since he got his real wedding gift (another gun) so long ago. Then I attempted to get stuff organized to take to the venue during the rehearsal and mom/Jimi/Caylee ironed all the table runners. I showered again because I was a hot mess and Meg redid my hair and makeup :) Poor sister.

Rehearsal was fun and frustrating, but I'll hit up on that and the dinner later. It's feeding time for my last baby of the day..it was a work weekend for me, boo. I've loved my snuggly babies these past few days :) but I have missed these two love bugs.

Still waiting, and bridal pictures

Still waiting on the sister to upload pictures from the bridal luncheon, so I figured I'd tell you about my good luck today and show some bridal pictures that'll probably otherwise never be seen :)

Today has been a good day! The Lord blessed me with quite a lot of goodness today. I got up this morning with Matt (...ish...I laid in bed until he sent Macie in after me) and headed out around 7 for my long run of the week...first 6 miles were good, last 4 were quite the challenge. I can't be too upset since I took last week off! Glad it's over either way.

After showering and brushing all the knots out of my hair for a solid 15 minutes, I took off for Beaufort to start the whole name change process. My plan was to get there right when they opened, but my run interfered so I didn't get there until 11:15. The waiting room was so full, people were complaining, and the only had two windows open...recipe for a long wait! Thankfully, they moved through people pretty quickly and I was out of there in 20 minutes! Since it went so fast I figured I woud tackle the DMV and attempt to change my license, title, and registration. Got there and they called my number immediately!! They actually ended up having to call me three times before I was finished filling out the forms- they were on it today!! Name is officially changed :)

Work called me while I was walking around Target and asked if I wouldn't mind starting my orientation to the unit 4 weeks late because they are short on days. This means I'll be on days until at least next year! Downfall is that they're finally making me orient to the super sick babies, and I have never seen myself as an ICU nurse...I like feeding and snuggling with my babies, not watching machines and charting all day.

And here are some pictures from the bridal shoot!! Hopefully the Megster can upload those pictures soon so I can continue on with the wedding events!

And fail- I thought I could save images from Heathers website, but I can't!

Where we left off...

I meant to post something at least once before the wedding, but I spent precious time with family instead!

I worked the Sunday and Monday at the hospital of wedding week and was so pumped for the rest of the week off!! Tuesday I ran into Savannah for wedding related stuff and had a doctors appointment so I didn't make it home to Bluffton until after 5, so not much cleaning took place for my mom, sister, McKenzie, and Caylee's arrival. Oops. Matt and I went to Giuseppi's for one last dinner date since I knew the rest of the week would be insane. The girls finally arrived just before 11 and McKenzie promptly curled up in ball and fell asleep while we unloaded.

Wednesday morning I got up and ran 3 miles, then picked up Meg for another...she had pretty bad shin splints so she had to keep it minimal all week. Afterwards we headed to the pool and spent most of the day there. I couldn't wear sunglasses and wore a hat most of the time to keep the face redness away...and it worked!! It is quite annoying not being able to wear sunglasses, FYI :)

Thursday morning the Megster and I did a 3-mile run, and she made me incorporate some sprinting...not fun!! Running us definitely more fun and motivating when with my sister! We had appointments for all us gals to get manicures and pedicures, and then sis and I had an appointment in Savannah for more beautification. Mom, Caylee, and McKenzie locked themselves our of the apartment for a good hour, so they weren't too pool ready when we got back after 3. Dinner was frozen yogurt that night, yum!

Friday morning was a 5-mile solo run followed by 3 with Meg for a total of 8 miles- glad to get one last long training run in before taking a week off! The Thomas ladies threw a bridal luncheon for me at 11, and that's where I'll pick up with the next post! Gotta get some pictures from my sis!

Happy Wednesday :)
