ONE more week....

I know I may seem pretty lame for posting on a Saturday night, but I have to work tomorrow at the hospital so I am being lame.

Monday and Tuesday were at the hospital...crazy moms make for fast-paced days.
Wednesday I was off so I slept in a touch and made it out for a run at about 8:30- not a good idea anymore. The weather was super humid and I was fairly certain death was calling my name, but somehow I survived 5 miles. I ran a few errands then met Molly at Ulta, a highly intimidating makeup store, so I'm so glad she came with me! An hour later I walked out $129 poorer, but had some fancy new makeup for wedding day :) I showered, blow dried my hair, then headed off to get my hair and makeup done for bridal pictures. I hightailed it to Beaufort after and met up with Heather (photographer), my mom, sister, Jimi, Caylee, and Riley...such a fun family event! They had me laughing the whole time and made running around in the rain way more fun.

Thursday was an office day...a very very slow office day. Summers are apparently slow, so we enjoyed not doing much. They threw a shower for Matt and I at Truffes and it was fun! Good wine, good food, and fun non-work related conversations :)

Friday was another day at the hospital...kind of a slow day as well with some fun, chatty coworkers.
I do really enjoy the sweet babies, and they've finally made me full time!! Only took 13 months...just 10 months longer than the 3 months promised ;)

This morning I got up and did my long run for the week- 7 miles...and felt good! It wasn't quite as humid outside this morning and there was a really good breeze going on. Matt got here and we dropped off my vehicle to get the oil changed, picked up gifts for our wedding musicians, drove to Savannah and got paper lanterns for our decor and sparklers for our exit. Matt got quite a few other fireworks to occupy him over the next few weeks.

We made it back to Bluffton, I picked up my truck, got Macie more food, then headed over for Chance's birthday gathering. Fun times watching Chance dig into his cake and opening his presents...2 year olds are so fun and excitable!

Matt and I ran to the store, watched some car race on tv, walked Macie, now I'm about to fold clothes and jump into bed! I'm not looking forward to tomorrow because I despise working weekends, but I only 2 shifts left so I shouldn't whine!!

Beach day, a birthday, and dad day

Friday was such a sweet day off!
I got up and did my long run of the week- 6 miles and felt pretty good....just hot. This first week of marathon training I really slacked off and took Thursday AND Saturday off. Thursday I had no excuse, I just didn't get up before work and got lazy towards the end of the day. Saturday I was at the hospital, but I shouldn't have turned off my alarm 8 times that morning because I never have motivation to work out after 12 hour shifts.
I'll do better this week :)

Back to Friday...after my run I took Macie for a walk to cool down, then showered up and met with Robin at Honey Horn to go over a few things and for her to show me picture "hot spots" for the wedding. Afterwards I went to the beach before calling it quits after a measly 3 hours...not sure what happened to the girl who used to be able to spend hours upon hours at the pool/beach- now I just get too hot! I came home, cleaned up a bit, Macie got a fun bath, then we rounded out the evening watching Safe Haven, which I actually liked.

Saturday started off rocky at the hospital, but ended up being a pretty great day. I picked up some frozen yogurt on the way home and enjoyed it while watching Safe Haven again (I forgot to take it back some figured I'd get my money's worth!) Papa's birthday was this day also- the big 53! He's on a golf trip with his buddies so I'm quite certain he's having too much fun.

We slept in until 7:30 this morning, I did a 5-mile run, walked Macie, headed to church, then picked up a lean cuisine for lunch (lame). Matt got home from his guys weekend around 1, so we lazed around watching the golf tournament for a couple hours before he headed home. I left for Sams and got dinner/dessert plates and silverware for the wedding, then hit up Walmart and Publix for some grocery shopping. I really want to take Macie for another walk but we'll be waiting until the sun goes down a touch ;) For now, we're making more lists, watching My Best Friends Wedding, and tackling some laundry.

Only 13 days left!! Less than TWO weeks!

Tomorrow and Tuesday I'm back at the hospital, Wednesday I'm doing bridal pictures in Beaufort, Thursday at the office with a shower for us afterwards (yay!!), then Friday back at the hospital.

Happy Father's Day!
Thankful for my papa and all my brothers who are excellent dads to my nieces and nephews!

It's hot

That's poor Macie only 1/4th through our 1+ mile walk this evening.
Weenie.

Monday and Tuesday I had some super sweet babies at the hospital and had great, fun coworkers in our pod, making the days go by fast- yay!

This morning was a hot and sweaty 5-mile run followed by a few hours at the office...also a nice, decently calm day. I bet tomorrow will make up for it since I'm there all day :)

After I got off at 12:45ish I ran home, pottied Macie, then Matt and I took off to get our marriage license. Contrary to popular belief (or just to me), this was not fun. The lady who I made our appointment with never told me "correct cash amount" only. So she almost refused to see us!! Told us we still had plenty of time before the wedding to take care of it....thankfully Matt was persistent and convinced her to let him go get cash while I finished filling out paperwork.
Note to the lady "helping" us- be happier!

We rushed off for Savannah for our final premarital counseling session...I enjoyed our meetings, but really didn't like the commute so I'm glad we're done! We also dropped off our guest book to be engraved and picked up Matt's suit.

Macie and I went on that sticky, sweaty walk and now we're already in bed!

Happy hump day!
PS- there is a new geico commercial about hump days and camels and it is hilarious!!

Almost in the teens...

20 days until the wedding :)

Thursday I managed to get myself to work and had a super quick shift. I love those kind of days that are steady busy and the hours just fly by. This is part of the reason I love day shift so much, nightshift seems to drag on foreverrrr! Friday I was supposed to do bridal pictures in Beaufort, as well as do a trial run for my hair, but we decided to reschedule since the chance for rain was 70%...and it didn't rain a single drop after 9am, oh well!

Friday evening Matt and I went to SAMs and picked up a few things for the hotel welcome bags we're putting in the rooms. We picked up some firehouse subs and ate dinner with Macie before Matt headed home and I did a few more wedding things.

Saturday morning I got up and did my first 5-mile run since April and felt surprisingly good!! Marathon training is starting this week and my goal is to not increase my mileage too quickly and to add in strength workouts on the days I'm at the hospital and can't run. My goal is a 4:00-4:15 marathon time, which woud be 32 minutes faster than my best...but I think it's doable :)

We met up with Daniel, Cassady, and Daniels brother Michael for a day on their boat at 10ish Saturday morning and we had a BLAST! Definitely exhausted when we got home last night (and quite sunburnt, somehow) and Macie was relentless in her dog neediness. She was up this morning at 4:45 so I took her out thinking she had to poo, but to no avail. I put her in her kennel and the little booger was whining at 7:45...no mercy to sleepy people. We got up and I made some horribly not-done cinnamon rolls. Sermon at church was great even though the atmosphere was kinda strange ("officially" changed the 11am service to contemporary and therefore had black out curtains up and neon lights lighting up the inside of the church...I'm not a fan). We watched Chance for a few hours while Megan and Scott had a class, went to the store, now Matt is gone and Macie and I are preparing for the week!

National running dayyyyy

Even though I'm currently feeling under the weather, I still attempted a decent run to celebrate National Running Day!

I only ran 3 miles and the humid weather in combination with this stomach bug made me want to puke the entire time.

I was going to go get properly "fitted" for some new running shoes this afternoon, but opted out because I was tired of my car and I needed to get home and order wedding programs (which are super cute). I might try and go Friday instead :)

Just some running mileage and goals for the year...

January- 100.53 miles
February- 81.39 miles, including two half marathons
March- 91.63 miles, PB half marathon (current PR of 1:52)
April- 89.99 miles, Nashville half
May- 49.68 miles

I took it realllllly easy in May because of a foot injury and with marathon training starting in June. My foot feels a little better, still not 100%, so I'm still taking it easier. And now I have a touch of plantar facsitis in my right foot, which is why I think I should be fitted for different shoes

Upcoming races:
Chicago marathon- October 13th (hoping for a 4:00-4:15, eeeeks!)
Savannah half- November 9th, with my sister!!
Kiawah Island half- December 14th, with Matt!!!!!

I'm so excited about training with Matt for the end-of-the year half!
It'll be his turn in 2014 when he has to train me for a triathlon :)

Back to wedding prep! I've been home from work the past two days with this bug, so I've been attempting to have productive afternoons...mornings have been beyond lazy!

Two words...

...pure exhaustion.

I don't typically like to work 3 day shifts in a row at the hospital, but I did Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this past week. Matt and I left right after work Friday evening for Augusta and made it there at 10:30ish. I fell asleep on the way home sitting up ;)

Saturday morning I was up at 7:30 to get my hair cut and highlighted...I was supposed to go for a run but it was soooo humid and my hair was wet so I skipped. We jumped in the car and headed for Atlanta right at 11, got there around 2, picked up my dress, then were stuck in traffic for a good hour trying to get to my friends Katie and Nick to meet their sweet new baby, Mason.

We hung out for an hour and left to meet up with Lindsey, Abbey, and Matt's friend, Mo at Tilted Kilt- seriously we LOVE the wings there, not the girls in short kilts and bras. We ate and hung out for awhile before driving over to Turner Field to catch our first Braves game of the year. Fail. Think we took for granted we used to live so close and always had access to cheap, good tickets. I stood in line for awhile and was told the cheapest tickets available were $56...we were wanting $9-18 tickets...so we opted out, sadly and reluctantly.

We made our way over to Taco Mac for a few drinks and to hang out while watching the game. We finally left Atlanta around 10:30 (Braves won in an awesome 10 inning game!) and arrived home at 12:30 ish. Poor Matt did all the driving and the rest of us passed out the whole way home, probably why he slept an extra hour or so this morning ;)

We rushed around this morning to be out the door by 10:15 so I could drop my wedding dress off at our alteration lady's house. Thankfully, the dress doesn't need much work because I need it back by Friday for bridal pictures!! We hightailed it back to Savannah for our next-to-last premarital counseling session. We had a late lunch/early dinner at Atanta Bread...I was so tired I didn't even want Coldstone afterwards, which is unheard of! We picked up Matt's truck and Macie from Darin and Brandi's and parted ways for home. Macie and I ran by the grocery store and now we're in the midst of unpacking, laundry, and getting ready for the upcoming week. It's going to be an early bedtime for us tonight!

27 days to go.

And please keep mom in your prayers, she's recovering from her knee replacement she had done Friday!
