November, PA (last little bit), and playing catch up

Okay, last bit of the PA trip went like this-
We got up Sunday, ate breakfast, got to the start line in time to potty, then ran (and walked) for 13.1 super hilly miles. It was quite chilly but the views were beautiful, and we snagged a free running skirt around mile 7ish. Fun for sure. We finished in 2:24:xx which is definitely a worst for me, but glad Steph and I stuck together for all 3 races. We also got to chat with the editor-in-chief of RW magazine after a beast of a hill at mile 6; he was super nice and chatted with as many runners as he could. I've never run with anyone during any race so it was a totally different run experience for me. We got back to the hotel, showered, Matt and I left for lunch, returned the rental car, then flew home.

The following weekend we didn't do much of anything- I did a 5 mile morning run while Matt hunted, I cleaned a lot, then drove to Bluffton for the Zombie 5k and grocery shopping. On Sunday I sat outside and read an entire book (seriously) while Matt did some serious yard work.

Friday was Halloween so we all dressed up at the office, which makes for a much more fun day. Who can be angry and frustrated when surrounded by zebras and lady bugs?! I came home and made hotdog mummies- pretty lame but dinner is still dinner!

Yesterday I was feeling quite under the weather with a nasty head cold so I opted to stay inside and do next to nothing all day. I did get some cleaning done, but once Matt lit a fire I was pretty much toast.

With the time change this morning I was hoping for some sold sleeping in, but we were up by 6:40 thanks to my annoying runny/stuffy nose and since we lack curtains in the bedroom and the sun was shining abundantly. Won't complain about the sunshine after yesterday's dreary day though. We went
to church, ate lunch with Megan and Scott's gang, chatted for a bit at their house, visited the new tractor supply store, then finally made it home. As soon as we walked in the door Matt changed into his hunting clothes and left. I waited an hour or so then had a fantastic 5 mile run. I'm assuming I was so pumped up after watching the NYC marathon on TV this morning; hey, whatever works. I also already signed up to try and get a spot in next years marathon. Psycho. We have another fire going and I imagine it'll be an early night for us.

Got a bit of a hectic schedule this week- bootcamp, vaccine inventory, work, grocery shopping all tomorrow, bootcamp Tuesday, run Wednesday; bootcamp, dermatology appointment, and a trip into Savannah for my race packet Thursday, then a hopefully quiet Friday. Saturday is the Savannah half and then a 5k Sunday. The icing on the cake is that my coworker will be leaving Thursday for a 10 day trip to Colombia so I'm on my own! I'm sure a lot of wine will be consumed :)
